A Message From FSA's Executive Director

FSA has received updates from the various security structures in which we are involved, concerning the planned protest action, led by the March and March organisation, scheduled for 30 June 2026.

The SAPS, together with the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster, have indicated that they are fully prepared and have deployed resources to identified hotspot areas.

Durban and Pietermaritzburg have been identified as areas of elevated risk, with toll plazas and major transport corridors receiving particular attention. RTI, SAPS, Metro Police and private security companies have been mobilised, while SANDF resources remain on standby should additional support be required.

Current intelligence suggests that any disruptions are most likely to affect major routes, particularly the N2 and N3 corridors, however, the SAPS have emphasised that they expect business activities to continue as normal. They also have plans and resources in place to respond rapidly to any incidents.

Members are encouraged to:
• Exercise caution when planning travel on 30 June and verify route status before departure.
• Maintain close communication with local security structures and service providers.
• Ensure that staff and contractors know the appropriate reporting channels should incidents occur.
• Review emergency communication procedures and contact lists.
• Report any security-related incidents immediately to SAPS and local security structures.
